The euphoria that greeted the emergence of Rt. Hon. (Chief) Emeka Ihedioha as governorship candidate of Imo PDP, dramatically reduced on Monday November 19, 2018, when an Owerri Federal High Court in suit No FCH/OW/CS/121/2018 ruled that the court has jurisdiction to entertain the amended motion filed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu against the nomination of Ihedioha.
The presiding judge subsequently struck out with costs, the objections raised and sustained by counsels to Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and PDP.
While ruling on the motion, the judge assured on accelerated hearing of the motion to enable the court proceed with the substantive suit which seeks to disqualify Ihedioha as candidate of the PDP.
In the suit,Senator Anyanwu also prays the court to declare him winner of the PDP governorship primary election since according to him the nomination of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha was fraught with irregularities, manipulations and falsification of figures. The court adjourned further hearing on the matter to Wednesday November 21, 2018.
