The fate of the five recently reinstated Imo lawmakers is presently hanging in the balance with the speaker of the House of Assembly Rt. Honourable Acho Ihim, threatening to send them permanently packing from the complex. Indications have so for emerged that the affected legislators who were reinstated by an Owerri High Court on Monday November 5, 2018, may go on another unprecedented suspension.

This is contained in a release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Marcel Ekwezuo. He explained that those who recently cross-carpeted from APC to other political parties may lose their seats. According to Ekwezuo, the embattled legislators; Israel Nnataronye of Mbaitoli LGA, Uche Oguike of Ikeduru, Dr. Chiji Collins of Isiala Mbano, and Ikenna Nzeruo of Oru East had on Wednesday November 7, 2018, stormed the Assembly complex accompanied by thugs, threatening to burn down the entire complex if they were disallowed from accessing their seats.

The release added that while Nzeruo of Oru East state constituency had decamped to PDP and also came back to APC, Chiji Collins and Donatus Onugwe had since picked the APGA House of Assembly tickets for their various constituencies, without intimating the leadership of the House or that of Imo APC, of their decisions. As a result of these aforementioned allegations which were yet to be confirmed as at press time, the Acho Ihim leadership is threatening to either declare their seats vacant, suspend them from plenary or continue with the case the Assembly leadership filed at the Court of Appeal on stay of execution.
