The Deputy National Chairman of United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief (Sir) Ejike Uche (Dimkpasaa) has debunked rumours, published in some newspapers, that arrangements are in top gear, for former Chief of Staff, to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Mr Uche Nwosu to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the UPP, where he intends to contest for governorship election, in 2019.
Sir Uche, a Knight of St. John International (KSJI), in a telephone conversation with our reporter, described the publications, as the height of sensational and irresponsible journalism, aimed at discrediting a united, peaceful and soaring political party that has been accepted by Imolites at home and in the diaspora, as the best alternative in the quest for good governance, rule of law and socio- economic development of the state. Besides, the oppressed and marginalized minorities have also keyed into the mission and vision of the party because of it’s manifesto that highlights true federalism, restructuring, fiscal federalism, resource control etc.
Dimkpasaa stated that the leadership of the party is poised to liberate Imolites from the bondage of corrupt and inept leadership that has made the people victims of impunity, administrative recklessness, hunger, lack and penury.
“Uche Nwosu, his sponsors and co-political adventurists have nothing good to offer Imolites. They fall short of the leadership standard and criteria already set and espoused by our great party. Their defection to UPP will smear, dent and destroy the image and credibility of the party, hence no amount of inducement will make us lower our standard and accommodate such acclaimed enemies of the people or anybody that is linked to Owelle Rochas Okorocha”.
