The President Ndom Oshieze of Umuokorie kindred, Owerri Municipal Council, Lolo Chinyere Odinaka Osuji said it has not been an easy task to keep the women of the area together but the executives have been doing their best which has subsequently united the women hence the unity and peace now existing in the kindred.
Speaking at the occasion of their thanksgiving mass/ investure of their illustrious sons/daughters last Tuesday, she espoused the uniqueness of their organization and thanked those who in one way or the other have assisted them in tackling the several challenges facing them.
The woman leader placed on record the contributions of Hon. Ernest Ibejiako who provided them with musical equipments which is second to none throughout Owerri Nchi Ise community adding that Hon. Ibejiako has also supported them at various times and whenever they called on him for assistance. She then gave special kudos to their patron, Chief (Sir) Odinakachukwu Osuji (Oshieze Owerri) who in his magnanimity provided the women with the wrapper uniforms which has made them outstanding and Barr. Steve Akuchie (Bosga) who also provided blouses for the women.
According to Lady Chinyere Osuji, others who deserve their commendation include Hon. Solomon Anukam, Barr. Ogueri Ehirim, Hon. Chidi Anukam (Okara), Chief Leonard Osuji (Ebube Agu Owerri), Mr. Chukwuma Igbozuruike (Double Awesu), Mr. Gab Anukam, Hon. Stanley Anukam who usually backs up their activities from time to time.
Like Oliver Twist, she stated that they count on their continued support and goodwill and pleaded that the women be empowered in order to assist their various families. She also acknowledged their solidarity throughout their trying period while stressing that the women shall continue to listen and count on their wise counsel.
She enjoined the women to ensure they obtain Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to enable them vote credible candidates of their choice, come 2019.
The women paid glowing tributes to all their former members who have passed on reiterating that they shall continue to pray for the repose of their souls and remember them for the roles they played in their life time to ensure that the meeting of Ndom Oshieze Owerri Nchi Ise waxed stronger.
