It was gathered that Governor Rochas Okorocha’s younger brother, who was said to have bought a 2017 model, Toyota Hilux (Darker double cap truck) worth eighteen million naira and a power bike, worth three million naira from the same person and has not paid a kobo, since after the transaction, six months ago, despite the man’s several pleas, was visited by officials of the Nigeria police from Abuja and Lagos.
He was said to have promised to make full payment in December last year but did not, on the grounds that he was sick. The man who sold the vehicles to him, sensing that he has either been duped or being taken for a ride, reported the matter to the police high command in Abuja and Lagos from where a team of stern looking police officers stormed Owerri to effect the debtor’s arrest.
According to our source, “the governor intervened but the police insisted on whisking him away because the order for his arrest came from Abuja”. As at the time of filling this report, it was not known if he was eventually released or taken to Abuja, as ordered.
It is however speculated that he was whisked away to Abuja as ordered by the police high command.
