A former vice chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU) and also former National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie, yesterday declared for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The erudite professor made the declaration in a well attended rally in Orlu, alongside Chief Peter Okorie, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aspirant for Orlu state constituency seat.
According to him, his declaration for APGA, is hinged on the fact that the party represents the Igbo vision and identity, which all Igbos at home and in the diaspora should not distance themselves from. Though he did not disclose interest in contesting for any elective position, there are speculations that he may be eyeing the Orlu senatorial seat.
