The area office/ press centre of the Community Watchdog Newspaper, published by Orlu Communications Limited will be commissioned at Orlu on Saturday December 16, 2017.
The area office/press centre, will serve as an outlet for the media house to reach out to the various communities of Orlu senatorial zone and parts of Anambra State for news gathering and newspaper distribution in order to serve the rural dwellers in line with the medium’s motto of “empowering people through information”.
According to the chairman, organizing committee of the event and Editor of the newspaper, Chief Sir Bonny Ajuogu (KSJI), the new office is equipped with modern equipments and qualified personnel for news/information gathering proper and prompt distribution of this fast growing popular newspaper which has its headquarters in Owerri with correspondents in the five South East states and Abuja.
Accordingly, the new office is an innovation which comprises an IT office for online transaction and a Press Centre for public use by politicians, businessmen, private organizations, corporate out fits and individuals who, while living in the area, find it difficult to get to the state capital for similar transactions.
The new area office located at No. 10 Bank Road Orlu is the first of its kind to be established by any tabloid in the state and will be replicated in Okigwe and Mbaise in the first quarter of next year.
Four distinguished personalities, will be honoured at the event, with community service award, for their contribution towards the development of their various communities.
The occasion which is expected to attract a number of prominent personalities, including, politicians, academics and businessmen, will be chaired by a renowned industrialist/philanthropist, Chief (Dr.) Ifeanyi Nwagu, Managing Director of AIFY Global Aluminum Company Ltd, Owerri assisted by other dignitaries.
