– Blasts Tinubu for opposing automatic ticket for Buhari
Sources at the APC National headquarters, Abuja have revealed that the Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has been very busy brandishing what he calls, authentic APC delegates list before his loyalists in Imo state but officially unrecognized or endorsed at Abuja.
This came to light when Okorocha while presiding over a meeting of his State Development Council (SDC) in Owerri, recently, boasted as usual, to be in charge of the leadership of the party and that President Mumammadu Buhari has long endorsed and anointed him as the 2019 Presidential Campaign Director in the South East Geopolitical Region.
To buttress his claim before the bewildered SDC members most of who have long distanced themselves from his antics, Governor Okorocha told them that Senator Osita Izunaso, with whom he had a face-off but who is also the National Organizing Secretary of the party, has since reconciled with him.
Investigations have however exposed the Governor as merely trying to deceive, cajole and brain wash his cheer crowd and followers into believing that he has more capacity to turn the table against his strongest political rival, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, who it was learnt has the tacit support of the National leadership of the party. Evidence of the harvest of lies as continually paraded by a totally embattled and completely humiliated Anayo Okorocha could be observed with the delegate lists as currently being displayed by Okorocha not having the required “mandatory introductory covering letter” as originating from the National headquarters of the party. “It was a mere cooked up list scrambled together by Okorocha”, our source further revealed.
Community Watchdog Newspaper had also confirmed that though a three man committee of the party was set up to investigate Okorocha’s unrelenting complaints. Okorocha had for some times now been seen around President Muhammadu Buhari in a showmanship that suggests that he has the ears of the President. Unfortunately for him, the President was advised to play along with the Governor.
Though the President was alleged to have appealed to the National leadership of the party to listen to Okorocha’s complaints, the result submitted by the committee was overwhelmingly against the Imo state Governor’s expectations. This as Community Watchdog Newspaper later gathered was informed by the renewed romance between the President and former Governor of Lagos state, Senator Bola Tinubu.
It was revealed that Tinubu had advised the President to ignore Rochas Okorocha if he hopes to get the support of the Yorubas in 2019. According to Bola Tinubu, the Imo state Governor had not only destabilized the APC Progressive Governor Forum by refusing to release funds raised by the Governors member for victims of Nyanya Abuja bomb blasts. Okorocha accordingly had brought his influence to bear in the entire Nigerian Governors forum where he is prominent member having created doubts in the administration of a number of policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari especially with the primary school pupils feeding which never took off in Imo state until date.
Having failed to alter the delegate lists, Okorocha resorted to attacking Bola Tinubu of Lagos state, describing him as stumbling blocks, against endorsement of Buhari for a second term. Tinubu has however replied by telling Okorocha that he lacks the capacity to interpret his statements.
