Sources at Imo Youth House near Concorde Hotel, New Owerri have revealed that the former office of the chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, (Ndieze Imo) HRH Eze Cletus Ilomuanya which was later converted to the Imo Youth Complex and development centre, by Governor Rochas Okorocha, has been converted to a brothel. In its present status, mouths have been waging that top government appointees are the ones who now patronize the brothel with ladies of easy virtue, usually late at nights, by paying a token to staff of the youth centre, who have procured mattresses and other bedding facilities for the purpose.
Their action stems from the near lack of effective use of the two storey office blocks which house an event centre and offices for some idle political appointees of Imo state government. Another school of thought had it that some of the appointees who locate their offices there, for seeming lack of official assignments or responsibilities have converted the offices to chalets, sleeping with different types of ladies including married women whom they deceive into believing that, “they are syndicating anchor agricultural credit facilities or loan for rice and maize farming even after the farming season has come and gone.
Our reporter who confronted a staff of the Imo Youth House, on the development confirmed that top government officials now bring their sex partners into the complex late at night and that most of the former staff have since been sacked by the special adviser to the governor who literarily engaged them as both temporary and domestic staff.
In his own reaction, comrade Kenneth Emelu whose office directly supervises whatever happens at the youth house, feigned ignorance of the report of sex escapades that had become the common thing at the Imo Youth House. He queried the wisdom of the reporter to enquire over such reports since no one in particular was caught in the act. He however admitted that a thorough-fare exists at one corner of the office complex which could be exploited by fun seekers and sex starved couples but exonerated his office from blame since according to him efforts are being made to close the “apian way”.
It will be recalled that following the insistence of the former chairman of Ndi Eze Imo HRH Eze Dr. Cletus Ilomuanya to host ex-president Goodluck Jonathan at the complex which was initiated and completed by Chief Sir Ikedi Ohakim, the incumbent governor Owelle RochasOkorocha after dispensing with his services as an Eze, and other traditional rulers who had defiantly attended the political event of 2014 with President Jonathan, converted the complex to Imo Youth centre.
Having abrogated independent youth organizations, the offices in the complex remained in disuse since there are no youth activities going on in the state and as such were readily available for sundry activities. Following the inability of the Rescue Mission government to pay most of the security personnel who were hired to safeguard and keep watch over the centre, they became willing tools to other sex starved and immoral political appointees whose sexual escapades became more frequent that the staff used part of the monies made from renting out the offices as chalets, to procure mattresses and other beddings to make their clientele more comfortable and the business more lucrative.
As a result there is usually a harvest of condoms at the Imo Youth centre New Owerri just as it was with the Rochas Foundation headquarters along Okigwe road in the early 2000 when Gerald Okorocha supervised the activities of Rochalles who were young school leavers and students recruited to provide sex for male supporters of the Agenda 2011 also known as, “the Agendees” whatever goes around, always comes around”, some will say.
