The Honourable member representing Isu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief (Mrs.) Ngozi Obiefule last Saturday 18th of November, 2017, held her second constituency briefing at Isu central Motor Park, Umundugba in Isu LGA of Imo state, built by her.
In her address, Hon (Mrs.) Ngozi Obiefule said that the occasion was prompted by her promise to steadily inform her constituents of the activities in the House of Assembly. She listed some of the bills and motions she sponsored and co-sponsored to include a bill on discriminations against persons and families in some communities, a motion for the introduction of drug use education in primary, secondary and tertiary schools, and a motion to arrest the epidemic, “sex for marks” in Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, (AIFCE) and other tertiary institutions in Imo.
Some other achievements include empowerment of sixty seven (67) business men and women, financially, assisting thirty (30) persons to secure loans and having to pay the interest upfront, payment of hospital bills for some Isu people who were sick, and the construction of conveniences (2 toilets) facilities for Isu police station. She had equally helped one hundred and ten Isu youths to secure employment in the Imo state civil service, among other achievements.
Finally, she appreciated her husband, Chief Obiefule for his immense support and contributions to her political success, her mother, Mrs. Matilda Onukwughara Nwukor who was also present at the occasion.
The Honourable Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Iheanacho Ihim in his own statement, described Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Obiefule as a vibrant, industrious, enterprising, hardworking and intelligent lawmaker who is knowledgeable about the elements of time and politics. He further said that nothing bothers her than the survival and happiness of her constituency and Isu people. He recommended her for second tenure in the Imo State House of Assembly.
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Dr. Hilary Eke who doubles as the Imo State Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in his remark, said that Chief (Mrs.) Ngozi Obiefule has successfully utilized the opportunity a lot of people misused to change lives. He added that from what he has heard and witnessed, she has done excellently well to the betterment of Isu constituency. He applauded her for her good gestures and advised her not to sit on her laurels because “for whom much is given, much more is expected.
Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, the wife of the Executive Governor of Imo state who was represented by Barr. Mrs. Ngozi Njoku, the erstwhile Commissioner for Health and Women Development expressed satisfaction with the functional empowerment programmes of Hon. Ngozi Obiefule. She thanked Isu people for sending a woman to represent them in the House of Assembly. In her words, “It is the wish of the wife of the Governor to empower more women in the positions of authority because women are doing very well”.
Other dignitaries at the occasion were Ichie Uche Best Mbanaso, SA to the Governor on City and Market Developments, Honourable member representing Ngor Okpala State Constituency, Hon. Obinna Egu, was also present. Others include Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Isu traditional rulers, Hon. Uju Onwudiwe, Hon lawman Duruji, Hon Orie Emmanuel and other lawmakers.
