The Association of Igbo Artistes, in its effort to propagate, promote and sustain Nigerian high life music, will on Sunday 26th November 2017, host the world in a music concert, tagged High Life, My Life.
According to a release dated 2nd November 2017 and signed by the event facilitator, Ugo Stevenson and Advocates President, Engr. Bruno, the event which will hold at Rockview Hotels along Wetheral/Okigwe Road roundabout, in Owerri Municipal Council, is aimed at celebrating Nigerian High Life legends and advocates “for propagating our culture, language and tradition through their creative artistry”. They posited that high life music genre that originated from Ghana, has been adopted by Nigeria, hence it has become the country’s authentic contemporary music.
According to the release, some Nigerian high life music legends will be honoured at the event. They include Prof. Victor Uwaifo, MBE, Chief Tony Okoroji, Chairman, Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) Gentleman Mike Ejiagha, Chief Ferdinand Dansatch Opara, Rev. Paulson Kalu, Prof. Goddy Ezike, Chief Godwin Kabaka Opara, Douglas Ederi Chukwneke, Sir Victor Olaiya, Duke Bright Chimezie and Lady Onyeka Onwenu.
The high point of the event will be the album presentation of high life musician, Ugo Stevenson.
