Labour Party (LP), one of the vibrant political parties that contested and made impact in the 2015 general election in the country, has dissolved its Chief Cyril Akujuobi led state caretaker committee and constituted another, led by Comrade John Onyenemere.

According to a release dated 6th October, 2017, and signed by the National Secretary of the party, Barr. Julius Abure, the dissolution is sequel to the resolution of the special national convention of the party, held on 3rd October, 2017 at Storehedge Hotel, Abuja.

 

The newly constituted caretaker committee which has Comrade Onyenemere as Chairman, Pastor Ogbonna Ayozie as Vice Chairman, Prince Eze Okparaugo as Secretary, Chief Philip Uwazuruonye, Organizing Secretary, Hon. Nkechi Manu S.K, Woman Leader, Emmanuel Eze Okereke, Youth Leader, Barr. Alisigwe, Legal Adviser, Dr. Emmanuel Nwanegbo, Publicity Secretary and Hon. Chemberlyn Ewulonu, Financial Secretary, has been mandated to embark on membership drive, strategize and commence the process of repackaging and repositioning the party for future electoral challenges.

The new caretaker exco was also saddled with the responsibility of setting machinery in motion for a state congress to elect a new state exco within the next 90 days, in consultation with the national secretariat. “Henceforth, the activities of our great party rest squarely on your shoulders. Any position held previously, is hereby cancelled and overtaken by events”.
