The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Imo State branch has advised parents and teachers against submitting their children and wards to any person or group of persons for any form of immunization.
This they said is because there is no officially approved immunization programme going on in the state presently.
In a press release issued by the Secretary of Imo NMA, Dr Dike Victor O, the Association said their timely warning is against the backdrop of recent alarm raised about a purported forceful immunization in some places in the state on Wednesday October 11, 2017. The pupils and students of both primary and secondary schools in the state were on the said date forced home by their teachers to avoid the forced administration of immunization on them. NMA also warned the general public against subscribing to any form of free medical programme that do not have the approval of NMA.
