The image and profile of the Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) seems to be presently enhanced and on upward mobility as thousands of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members and supporters led by the former state chairman of the party, Dr. Alex Obi (Ikemba Mbaise) and Senator Bright Nwanne will on Friday 3rd November, 2017, formally declare for APGA at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports arena, behind Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri.
The State Publicity Secretary of APGA, Dr. George Nkwoada, in a release dated 30th October, 2017, said the decampees’ declaration for APGA is in response to APGA’a continuous membership drive, and the party’s belief in political unity in Igboland, internal democracy and provision of a level playing ground for all.
Dr Nkwoada said members of the group will henceforth, be accorded full rights and privileges of membership and are free to aspire to any elective position on APGA’s platform. “Our National Chairman, Ozo Victor Oye will be there to represent the BOT Chairman, Governor Willie Obiano who will be unavoidably absent because of his re-election campaign involvements”.
